Mötesplats Rydberg - Imaging ferroic domain dynamics with X-rays
Imaging ferroic domain dynamics with X-rays
With Professor Jesper Wallentin, division of Synchrotron Radiation Research
Abstract
Ferroic materials such as ferromagnets and ferroelectrics are characterized by domains, which typically have sizes from 10 nm to 10 µm. Imaging the dynamics of ferroic domains in realistic conditions requires an experimentally challenging combination of high spatial resolution, contrast, and long penetration depth. Here, I will show how modern X-ray methods can be used to image ferroic domain dynamics at a spatial resolution on the order of tens of nanometers.
